Rescue Organizations

I am the managing Director of Forever Home Beagle Rescue (FHBR), an active and well-respected multi-state dog rescue that has been in operation since 2007. I also work as a police lieutenant and supervise my department’s Animal Law unit.

FHBR takes in a number of elderly, injured and special needs pups that often require extensive veterinary care. Many of these dogs have histories of neglect, abuse, or were otherwise poorly cared for, and so we are very selective about the vets and services that we use. We care deeply for all of the dogs we rescue, advocate for each one, and will only leave them in the care of
people we trust.

I became acquainted with Dr. Eugene Aversa…, and I liked him immediately. He was always kind, patient and gentle with our dogs, he listened intently to our concerns and was more thorough than most any vet with whom I previously worked. He took the time to research things, speak to specialists when warranted, and devise treatment plans in a way that made me confident he truly cared about the health, well-being and treatment success of each dog. His genuine care and concern for our dogs was obvious and consistent throughout….

We left several dogs in Dr. Aversa’s care for an entire day at a time for testing and evaluation, never with any issues. Our dogs loved him…and we were always so appreciative of the excellent care they received with him.

We would enthusiastically recommend Dr. Aversa to anyone looking for a veterinarian.
